Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try!” - Dr. Seuss

I had every intention of writing a really meaningful New Year's post, but this stupid cold that invaded me had other plans.

So, I shall simply say from this gang to you -
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
May 2010 be filled with peace, love, happiness, and a whole lot of fun with friends!

were you wondering

So...were you wondering where I was this weekend? No? What? Now that isn't nice! Oh, you were joking! Good. Since you were wondering...I went to Bellevue with Cheryl to visit her sister, Donna, and cheer her on as she walked in the 3-day Breast Cancer Walk. Way to go Donna! You're the BrEaST!

Go here for a bit more detail of the weekend (and some pictures). Of course I have pictures that I took, however I haven't been feeling well (in a few different ways...I think Troy & Archer shared last week's cooties with me...and...really you don't want details) since I've been home, so no big fancy post filled with pictures today!

Hi Friends!

It has been one week since my last post. I wish I could hop on here and say "I'm back and I feel great!" However, I don't feel great and it sucks.

I miss certain things (besides breathing) - going in public, talking to people outside of my family, Starbucks. You know those little things. I love being at home. I am a homebody, right now, however I want to go out - out anywhere. I did go to the bank yesterday. And Hallmark (which is next to the bank). Dropped a card I found at Hallmark off for Tami. Wow! What a traveler I was. Today? Bed. The kitchen. A trip to the laundry room. Used all my energy yesterday.

This is my picture of the day from yesterday. It is the beginning of my Spring hutch. I haven't gotten very far - this is a start.
While sick I have looked at a lot of magazines (my attention span has been too short for a book). I received the Oriental Trading Company catalog yesterday. I have grand ideas for DeAnne's graduation party - I am getting excited. I am thinking luau! Stay tuned!

This is it.

Not feeling to well.
Have "the cold."
Spent most of today in bed.
Very little time on the computer.

The only "real" thing I did today was go to Archer's belt promotion test/ceremony for Tae Kwon Do. When he was awarded his new belt he was excited to learn he had "skipped" a belt and is now an advanced yellow/junior green belt. His friend Henry earned his red belt! Way to go guys!

Back to bed. More when I am feeling better.

Thanks for voting on the photo blog. I enjoy seeing what you like! :)

my poor baby.

Archer came home from school today not feeling well. Since 2:00 he has been laying on his couch - sleeping, drinking. That is it. Poor kid. He has an assortment of liquids - OJ, Sierra Mist, water next to him. He has also been visited many times by a special healing friend, aka Spazzy Jazzy!

His temperature is coming down a bit. It was 101.3 for awhile...Let's hope for a quick recovery! He doesn't want to miss school, as the quarter is almost over and he has "things to do" - this is a great new attitude (not wanting to miss school). A few years ago he wanted to stay home for a hangnail. :)Get better soon my sweet boy!

It's been a week

It has been a week since my last post and what a week it has been. First, I had a nasty head cold. Then as I was recovering Archer came down with the stomach flu. Remember that he was just sick two weeks ago with the fever/cold thing. So, he has missed a full week of school in February. He is still sick today, however he is on the mend (I hope).

I am spending the day in my jammies (except a quick trip to the bank), airing out the house and cleaning everything I can. Fun times.

Troy is in San Jose with George. Evidently there is a big airsoft store there (yeehaw)! He is hoping to go see a huge haunted house...

Better

Things are better here this week.

Archer is well and back at school. He is so thankful for that.

Archer being back at school means Troy is back at work. He worked from home with brief trips to the museum while Archer was sick.

I have been subbing everyday. Keeping busy!

We have begun planning our trip to D.C. (in April). Archer is very excited about this! This will be Troy's second trip as a panel reviewer for the IMLS(Institute of Museum and Library Services -I think). Very cool for him!
In other Troy news he has most of his Marine Corps uniforms (almost) completed and posted where ever it is he posts these things. Here is one of them...my favorite out of all of them. Looks most casual! :}

Sick Day

103.5 that has been the highest fever he has had so far. It came down to 100.3 then back up to 102.2...

Poor kid is miserable. Fever, sore throat, headache. We are hoping for a quick recovery, however he will have another day at home tomorrow.

Kitty healing power is necessary when you are sick!

Rainy Day...

After what turned out to be a glorious weekend and a nice beginning of the week it turned to rain today.
Troy is still feeling under the weather. So, while taking an afternoon nap today I snapped a picture. Poor guy...too sick to fight off the crazy lady with the camera.
The rain forced the animals inside. Ellie Mae, who thinks she is an outdoor cat but isn't, took a little jaunt outside only to find her paws wet. She then moved inside and found a spot on the couch where she recovered for several hours.

Archer and Gabe spent the afternoon plugged into the PS2 playing Champions of Norath. After days in the sun they were ready to get back to the important work of serious gaming. I find it fascinating to listen to their conversations when playing games. I am not a big video game person and to them this is very serious business. Good luck guys!

Oh. I did get Archer to smile for a picture. He REALLY wanted a cheese quesadilla and I told him I wouldn't make him one without a "cute" smile...Now that's what it's all about!

Weekend Update

Okay...This was a lazy weekend. It was very nice, beautiful sunshine both days.
I finally got my digital camera in the mail. Yippee! Troy spent the weekend sick. Horton was used for "kitty healing power." But Troy is still feeling down...Horton needs to work harder evidently. Archer was not happy with the arrival of another camera in the house. This has definately become the year of no Archer pictures. He used to humor me at least. Not so much anymore. Okay onto another note. For those of you who can help me out with plant/weed identification. What is this? Is it a weed? I am claiming complete ignorance in this matter.... Thanks for your help!
Until next time...
