One of Archer's favorite foods is poffertjes. He only can get them a few times a year at festivals (and the fair) here in Lynden. While talking to our dear friend, and fabulous baker/cook, she mentioned she had a poffertje pan and insisted I take it home to make poffertjes with Archer. As most know Archer loves to bake and cook and has been asking for a pan for quite sometime so needless to say he was just slightly excited. So last night we whipped up one batch of poffertjes (we have a lot of batter and butter cream in the fridge) and ate them with the butter cream and strawberries. YUM!The finished product (before the yummy strawberries).
So, do they taste the same?!? Archer told me you guys were borrowing the pan & he was VERY happy about it! If they turned out good, I'm sure I could bring the whole family over for a visit. :)
ReplyDeleteThey don't got those in Illinois. Explain please. What are they? They look pretty good, so I'm sure I'd eat it... LOL
ReplyDeleteYummmm. It looks good. I have never had them before although I have see the huge lineups for them at the Fair. I think that Archer should have a road side booth for them and then I could come and try!!
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna guess these are northern US treats? I'm with goddess there....we don't got those here in Colorado neither....I did click on the link but that just made me think they were like underdone pancakes? Maybe you should whip up a batch and ship them out to Illinois and Colorado!
ReplyDeleteYum-O! Wow, I was already looking forward to seeing you guys tomorrow, but now I'm quite impressed with the excellent timing...I've not had poffertjes before, but if Archer loves them I'm sure they're great, and really, how can anything that goes with buttercream and strawberries not be great?!
