progress.

My kitchen table has looked like this since Saturday morning. Over the weekend I worked off and on on my week in the life album...I am on Friday. I need to get back to work on this. It has been really fun - compiling and creating the pages...Right now I am on a motivation break...Maybe tonight...We'll see.

For now here are a few samples pages for those who are interested.

For each day I did a two-page spread in these 4x6 divided pages. This was so much fun...I will definitely do more pages like this in the future. I used mostly Scenic Route paper and embellishments and a few 7 Gypsies items and a few other things...
I think the best thing I did was use what I had on hand. I have a LOT of *stuff* and have been trying really, really (REALLY) hard to use what I have. So, except for the actual page protectors I didn't buy anything new for this album. (I think I need some praise here...it was difficult...haha)!

My plan is to finish the two page spreads for each day, then make some individual pages to add at the end with some of the pictures that I have left over...like that flashback of the 80s photo from Fred Meyer (I think that deserves its own page, don't you?). I also have some fun print-outs from wordle for each of us that I may make into pages...It is an evolving project.

Refrigerator Door.

I had the desire to do something productive today. This desire was accompanied by also wanting to do nothing...interesting! So, I decided to tackle a few of the easier projects that have been on my list for quite sometime...Why have these things been on my list for so long if they are so easy?

First I cleaned out the phone cupboard. Threw out some *stuff* and organized a bit. That one was easy.

Then I decided to tackle the refrigerator door. While I have seen messier fridges in my life mine was beginning to irritate me. I had such a random assortment of *stuff* on the fridge - a picture from when Archer was about a year old (this was it's third fridge door - in the same plastic frame - yikes); a picture of Chip, Lorinda, and Caleb (from before Dawson was born...); various magnets; ALL of Archer's middle school report cards; doctor notes; 2 grocery lists; and other random stuff.... I decided to take a few of the items and make a QUICK scrapbook page. Here it is....
And the after shot. I love the alphabet magnets (Old Navy and M&M World) and I HAVE to have 2 grocery lists (one for Trader Joes and one for regular groceries and Costco). And what fridge door would be complete without art from a child? Archer's Mona Lisa parody from 7th grade art fits the bill for that one.

Here it is.

I have completed the clean on my side of the bed. As is typical Jerrie fashion when I decided it was time I took everything out of the corner, piled it on my bed (or moved it to the end of the bed), and vacuumed and dusted everything. Then seeing the pile of crap :) I didn't really want to clean anymore. I just wanted to go in the other room and take a nap...However, since all the crap was on my side of the bed and I couldn't go to bed until I moved it all I dug in.

First I went through the what is working, what isn't working, what I need right now, what I want in the future...

What is working? I had all my crap/stuff right by me. I like the little basket filled with lip balm and other beauty related items (finger nail clippers, files, lotion, Burts Bees cuticle cream...you get the idea).

What wasn't working? Um...I had all my crap/stuff right by me! Interesting conundrum isn't it? Already read magazines/books piled w/ unread magazines/books. Could never find a pen when I needed one...It was a mess!

What do I need right now? A place to keep all my library books together, a place for magazines to read and books I am currently reading, a spot for pens and post-its (as anyone who has ever borrowed a book you will know I LOVE my post-its while I read). What I did...I gathered a basket devoted to just library books (on my dresser) and one for magazines (on the red chair). I brought the cute trio of pots from on top of the kitchen cupboard that weren't being used to hold pens, post-its and other little stuff. I stole the red chair from the kitchen to hold the magazine basket (and there is a pillow under for Jazz to cuddle on). I stream-lined the books to books that a) I am currently reading, b) my Bible, c) a devotional.

So far I like it...It works for now...
What I want in the future? Oh let me dream...I soooooooo want a new (to me) dresser (one that has drawers that don't sag...preferably not press board), a new lamp (this one is fine and still somewhat new, but so boring), a new (to me) side table, oh a new bed would rock (but is low on my list), and I want to paint (but I HATE to paint so Lorinda needs to come out and paint!).

I know this picture is unrelated to the bedside cleaning, but here is Jazz who decided to climb in the tub. She loves water (namely the toilet) and has been fascinated by the tub for sometime...finally decided to take the plunge! Weird cat.

Snow Day. Jammie Day. Project Day?

Today is a snow day. Therefore it is also a jammie day for me. Staying in my comfy cozy jammies all day. That is my plan.

Last night I took this picture:I know what you are thinking (well...I am thinking)...YIKES! Jerrie, is that your stuff? Is that your mess?
Why, yes, that is my mess. Thanks for asking...

So, my plan for today - if I feel so inclined to move from the computer, the couch, away from my book(s) and magazines - is to clean/organize the side of my bed. Wish me luck!

P.S. See the monkey? I got him for Christmas when I was about 5. I love him. I named him...wait for it...Monkey! A very original child, huh? Anyway, I fell in love with this monkey when shopping with my mom at Discount City (any of you locals remember - and love - DC?)...I cried when I had to leave him there. Now here he is...still bringing me joy!
