two-sday.

Today was day two in the week in my life project. I didn't take quite as many photos (about half of yesterday), however I still got quite a few. I just kept forgetting...Hmmm...there is always tomorrow.

What I have liked about this project is the thought involved. The focusing on the little things, on real life. This is truly a "regular" week in our "regular" lives and I think it will be fantastic to have a record of it. I am planning some other little slice of life and at a glance pages for my book. I am pretty excited about it all.

Here are a few pictures to enjoy.

Chores. Frisbee golfing with Alex (I call this the "I have a really big hand" OR "Take my picture and I will shove that camera up your ...." picture), my Trader Joe's loot, Emily working hard at Dave's! (edited to note: Emily is not Emily's given name. Emily is Travis aka Travis Emily. We call him Emily or Nurse Emily and have since I've known him...Long story. Sorry about the confusion. His parents don't hate him. We do. No...just kidding. I love Emily!)

***On another note...my phone chimed with a new text message tonight. While that isn't an unusual occurrence the new message was...I was thrilled to get a photo from Renee of my sweet nephew Nicholas. Oh I miss him. I saw him a month ago, but I know that he is growing and changing day by day and I wish I could see more of it. Anyway I will take what I can get. Isn't he adorable?

review & to do

This weekend was really fun! (How is that for a catchy beginning sentence? Makes you want to keep reading, huh?)...

Saturday morning Troy and I dropped Archer off at my parent's house while we had a day trip to Bellevue. Troy had to pick up a *gun* (surprise, surprise) and thought we could make a day out of it. I hadn't been to Bellevue square since Archer was a baby (I know the horror) - so we spent a few hours wandering around. I love, love, love spending time in Pottery Barn and Williams Sonoma. We were very good though and limited our purchasing to a few (obviously much needed) items. I hate coming home knowing I spent too much on things I don't really need. This trip was perfect - browsing, inspiration, writing down some books to check out at the library!

We ate at the Cheesecake Factory (uh...YUM)! I had the most delicious Mango-rita - I am sure Troy could replicate it if he truly wants to make me happy!

The loot - sometimes the bags just make me happy!a litte of what was inside those bags (Archer's legos were taken out)

On the way home we stopped by Joel and Katrina's house to visit and drop off a birthday present for Madeline. We love to visit with them - don't see them nearly often enough. Well...maybe...getting Troy and Joel together is sometimes an iffy scenario! (haha)

When we stopped to pick up Archer he was evidently not ready to leave Grandma & Grandpa's house. On Sunday I asked my mom to pick me up a compost bin at the Re-Store before she brought Archer home, however a compost bin is evidently a very personal item and she didn't want to pick it out...So, a trip to Bellingham for me was necessary. My mom said she saw a compost bin in the Fred Meyer ad for only $34.99 so we went there and picked up this beauty!

WoooHooo! Jerrie's got herself a compost bin! I decided against a pile for several reasons (smell, neighbors, being right here, smack-dab in the middle of this town). My initial plan was for a pile, but I think this may make everyone just a wee-bit happier! Anyway...I am excited by the compost bin! (I can cross off one of those items on my "100 things to do" list. Yay!)

Well...that is is...our weekend all wrapped up this Monday morning.

Monday's to dos: go to the library (for real...wasn't that on the list last week?), clean off the kitchen table.
There. That is it. If I can do those two things I will have accomplished two much needed tasks. My books are overdue, I have a few to pick up which will expire tomorrow - good incentive to go. My kitchen table is in the kitchen, somewhere. Oh, I think it is under all that *stuff* there. I think I can see the legs. Ya, it needs some help! Wish me luck!

really he is cute...

I love all the t-shirts with cute sayings on them. I rarely (never) buy any, but they are sure fun to look at. I saw this one in the girls department and I absolutely loved it. I also like the one that said "I am the cutest one in my family" because well...it is true! haha... So, when I came home I thought I needed to post the picture and of course had to have "proof" that my brother looks funny...here it is - the proof. Now tell me that isn't funny. (Picture below taken on Easter many years ago during an Ultimate Easter Egg Hunt...No mercy - stealing, pushing - anything for the egg! I think maybe he wasn't winning the hunt - notice the lack of eggs in the basket!)...
I love you Alex! (even if you look funny...smile!)

Kickin' Keds

After an impromptu lunch with Cheryl we made a few stops while in town. Stopped at Joe's to check out some cute purse/bags and the clothing sale racks. Then off to Fred Meyer we went. Walking through the store I saw Fred and stopped for a chat and along comes Tami with a cart full of shoes. Okay, it may not have been a cart full, but there were three pairs. Cheryl was also on the mission of shoes and not to feel left out I found these little cuties on sale...I needed a new pair of black shoes and thought these looked fun! I do love Keds!

Mama's got a new pair of shoes!

Went shopping today. I needed a new pair of walking shoes. My mom and I went to the mall and visited Lady Footlocker where they were having a great sale! So, I got these two pair of shoes. The white/pink Nikes for walking and the brown suede Sketchers for everyday casual wear...Yippee!(Click the picture to see them bigger!) The only thing better than one pair of shoes is two!!! I picked up some shoe laces for Troy and Archer got some Floam. Have you seen that stuff? Very interesting. We haven't opened it yet because Archer isn't home, but he has had his eye on it for awhile! Well that's it for today...I should have been home cleaning ~ I guess that will be the plan for tomorrow!
